My Pride of my Country

Authors Note: I am writing this peace to show my pride in my country and why I am so proud.

I have a ton of pride in my country. They have risked their lives for me to be here and have my freedom. I just can’t imagine what it would be like if I lived somewhere else, my life wouldn’t be the same. The United States has more things than other countries have and they want them. My pride is because of the way that we have developed and came together in the world.
Many military men and women have risked their life to make mine better and just our whole countries life better. Their family have let them risk there life. They’d rather have themselves helping their country than other people doing it for them. These people are really brave and they love protecting us. They don’t even know who they are fighting for anyway that is just how special these men and women are. I am very happy and thankful that we have these people here in our lives I don’t come to think of it as much as we should but I am truly thankful and proud of these military men and women.
Our country has helped many other countries in the world our country really can save lives when we all work together. They have given medical help to those countries that don’t have any medical supplies and they need help. We give them things that they need to stay alive. We have helped other countries that have been through natural disasters we have all helped raise money had given those people food and water. We have been a big help to those countries who really needed us.
Finally, we have freedom to do what we want when we want. We don’t have to listen to anyone, unless they’re parents of course. You don’t have to go to a certain church or a certain school. You have that decision to make for yourself. You can have your own personality your own choices to make and not having someone making them for you. That is a life skill is making your own decisions not someone making them for you.
I have so much pride because we have grown to be able to make our own decisions not someone making them for us, people risking their life for me to live, and most of all we help many people that are in need of them. My pride goes a long way with all the things that we have accomplished and have grown together in.

My Life Turned Around

Author’s note: This piece was created to let the reader be entertained and understand about being yourselve.
Kyle was a junior at a high school in Georgia, and was one of the most popular people in school. He was the captain of the football team and he was dating the head cheerleader, he had everything that a guy could want. Until the day that he found out that he had to star in the school play because he was failing his drama class. Then everything in his life stopped.
Kyle drove to school the next day with his girlfriend Amanda in the front seat. He had picked her up on his way to school. They got out of the car and then walked to the courtyard to hang out with his friends. He sat down at a picnic table next to his friends. Amanda came and sat next to him. She was hanging on him because she thought she was so cool. Kyle was starting to get sick of her always being right on top of him. He was going to say something to her because he was tired of it then the bell rang.
His first class of the day was drama he was failing drama so his teacher said he had to be the lead role in the play, otherwise he was going to get kicked of the football team. The play that they were doing was Grease. Kyle was going to try out for the role of Danny. He tried out in front of the class and they decided that he should get the role. The outsider at this school her name was Emily. She had tried out for the role of Sally she was amazing. Everyone didn’t think she could sing that well. The next day at school she asked him if he needed any help with any of his lines. He just ignored her because that was the cool thing to do. Then Kyle was disconcerted with all the lines that he had to remember and then he took her up on that offer. Every day after school he would drive them back to her house and they would practice.
The next day he picked Amanda up from her house to take her to school with him. They went out to the courtyard again and sat at the same table. This time Kyle told Amanda that he was getting tired of her hanging on him. He broke up with Amanda, and she was begging him to stay with her. They had been dating a whole year. He had to focus on the play so he could get his grades up.
The night of the play was tonight, it went by so fast. All his friends were going to be there and he was embarrassed to be singing with Emily. She was in her dressing room and he was in his. He was on the stage first he had the first song. While he was starting to sing his song Emily was in her outfit. It was a white and blue dress, she looked stunning. She was walking out to sing her part of the song now. Kyle was just so shocked of how beautiful she was. He thought about all those times he had ignored her and just made her feel like an outsider. He thought about what all his friends would say about him going to ask her out. He didn’t care about what other people thought anymore.
After they were done with the play they went out to dinner. She said to him “why did you choose me instead of all those cheerleaders”. He said back to her “you are more beautiful than all of them”. That night he took her home. The next day he picked her up and took her to school. The cheerleaders were making fun of Emily and Amanda was the head of it. Kyle stood up to them and took her to their drama class. Kyle looked at his grade for the play and it was up to a B-.
Kyle was the quarterback of the football team all through high school. He and Emily had dated all through high school. He found out it didn’t matter what other people thought it was his life so he had to live it. After high school they went their separate ways. Ten years later Emily went to one of Kyle’s college football games. He saw her in the stands and after the game he went to go talk to her. The first thing out of his mouth as he got down on one knee was “Will you marry me.” Emily said “yes!” They lived their life happily together.

Clear Your Mind Go Outside

Author’s note: I wrote this piece about why students need to go outside during the school day.

Have you ever seen a student in your class that is always jumping in their seat? They are never focused by the end of the day. Talking too much and disturbing people. Do you think they would act the same if they had some fresh air time? Fresh air is very important in a child’s life they need it to help their learning ability.
The first important reason why they need some fresh air is that they will start to learn better. When they go outside it is clearing there mind. The stress is leaving there mind and they just had fifteen minutes to focus on something that doesn’t have to deal with school. When it’s time for them to come back in they are more focused now. This is because they had some time to do what they want outside and be with their friends. When they come back in they will take the information in their brains better and they will be more focused.
Next, for the teacher’s sake they will get all their energy out when they are outside. They will be running around and playing with their friends. They will work better in the classroom they won’t be so anxious and they won’t be jumping around in there seat or disturbing the class by talking all the time. These students that do this they are the students that don’t get any fresh air at all. It’s very important to kids that they get to go outside and talk to each other and run around. This is just what kids love to do it’s one of their hobbies.
Finally, if you were a parent wouldn’t you want your kids to want to go to school and enjoy it? When students get their time outside they are going to want to come to school the next day because they know they will get more time. It is like a reward to them to go outside. Soon they will start to love to come to school for the fresh air and the learning. This is what teachers want and parents want. They don’t want to have their kids be miserable. That is just what they are going to be when they don’t go outside. Parents aren’t going to be happy and when their kids come home crabby and want nothing to do with them. Fresh air will help that and their kids will come home, their parents will enjoy them feeling good.
Getting fresh air is one of the most important things that a child needs in their life. It will help them learn better and pay attention. Students will want to come to school and will want to learn. Parents will be happier when their kids come home because they won’t be crabby. Fresh air helps these students grow physically and mentally.

Casey Ruined the Game

Author’s note: A diary entry to myself from the story Casey and the bat. How Casey ruined the game for all his fans and why they are all upset with him.

Dear diary,
Casey totally blew the game for his team, his team was down four to two and he was up to bat with a person on second and third. Casey was way too focused on his ego thinking he was the best on the team, if you really think about it he isn’t that much better than most of the players on that team. When it was Casey’s turn to go up to bat he was too focused on the crowd. The pitcher threw the first pitch and it was good, but Casey just let the ball go right by, he didn’t even try to swing he said it wasn’t his type of pitch. He was worried about the crowd instead of hitting the ball! The pitcher was getting ready to throw the next pitch, but you know Casey, it wasn’t his style. If he would’ve tried to swing at these pitches he might have hit one, he would never know unless he tried. When the pitcher was getting ready to throw the third pitch he pointed into the crowd because he was sure he was going to hit it. The pitcher threw the ball and he swung but he totally missed the ball. If he would’ve tried to hit all those pitches maybe he would’ve hit one. He blew the game and he disappointed the whole crowd and town. He especially disappointed me, I was his biggest fan and it took me until now to realize that Casey is really cocky and full of himself I hope Casey has changed sense then.
Sincerely,
His fan Madisen

Best Friends

Imagine a little boy since the day he was born always friendly and helpful to the people and environment around him. This was the exact definition of a boy named Pierre. Pierre named the horse Peter. They were royal and true to one another ever since they met. The best friend award is perfect for this boy named Pierre.
On the morning of April 16th Pierre woke up at 7:15 in the morning. He was so excited because today was his birthday. As any little kid that was turning eight, would run into their parent’s room and wake them up. Pierre walked out of his bedroom, down the hall way, passed the stairs, and the bathroom to get to his parents giant room. All the lights were off; the room was shined with light because the blinds were slightly open. Pierre climbed on the bed and started to jump and say “Mom, dad wake up! It’s my birthday.” They all walked downstairs to the kitchen. The kitchen had a lot of cupboards that were full and everything was in place. For breakfast they had pancakes that were perfectly brown and toasted. Pierre’s mom even gave him some strawberries for a little extra flavor on his special day. After Pierre was done eating breakfast, his dad called him out to the barn. Pierre thought that he was going to have to do chores on his birthday but instead his dad said that he had a surprise. When Pierre walked into the barn he saw a little fowl. The fowl was small and brown; it looked like it was just learning how to walk. The fowl’s legs were shaking when they were trying to move. Pierre said that he was going to name him Peter. Pierre was so happy he spent the whole day in the barn feeding and spending time with the fowl to get to know him better. Pierre said to the horse “I promise to take care of you and stand by you no matter what happens, you’re the best thing that ever happened to me”. The next day Pierre had to go back to school because it was Monday. Pierre wasn’t doing very well in his classes and this was because all he was thinking about was his horse. He faked sick because he needed to be home with his horse. Pierre did this a couple other days also. His parents decided that the horse was going to have to stay at the neighbor’s house until Pierre can get his grades up and concentrate on his chores and getting real friend’s that aren’t animals. The day that Peter was getting taken away was the worst day of Pierre’s life. He had to keep his promise that night and he climbed out the window and snuck out to see him. He spent time with him reading and talking to him. When Pierre left to go home he said to the horse “I promise to get you home soon”. The next week he talked to his dad and asked him if Peter can come home. He spent two weeks getting his school work done and chores and his dad said yes because he got all caught up. Pierre did this so he can stay with his best friend; he wanted to keep the true friendship. These two friends were loyal to one another. They kept their promise until the day that they died they stuck together for their whole life. The best friend award is perfect for these two because they were the perfect best friends.
The best friend’s award was perfect for this boy. Pierre kept his promise to the horse that he would stick by his side no matter what would happen to them both.

Deep Water

Imagine being scared of something your whole life just because some little thing happened to you when you were little. This caused the boy in the story to not want to do anything with water, like tubing, swimming with his friends, going to water parks and having fun. In the story “Deep Water”, by William O. Douglas when you have a lifelong fear many people don’t have enough courage to overcome it.
Although you may have a life fear to go on with life you have to overcome or want to conquer it. This takes a lot of courage for this to happen. If something happens to you when you’re little it may scar you for most of your life. Many people don’t want to conquer these fears because they may feel embarrassed or they are just to scared to do it. There are also many people that have to overcome their fear because maybe they can’t go on with life unless they do. It does take a lot of courage to do these things and many people just don’t have enough courage to do them. Childhood fear leading into teenage and adulthood fear is a big thing in the United States. On the website fears and phobias, 75% of these fears start off with part of a childhood fear and they can’t overcome them. They just don’t have enough gut do this because they think that whatever happened to them will happen again. Worst yet it could be worse then what happen to them before.
Though the boy when he was three or four he got knocked down by waves and his dad didn’t help him get back up and just laughed. The boy got older he decided to try to overcome these fears at the Y.M.C.A pool. When he got there this 18 year old boy threw him in the pool and he drowned. Somebody, finally got pulled out of the water. Someone that I know was working in the backyard with her husband. They were cutting up there tree that fell down. There was one piece off the tree that wouldn’t stand up by itself. The wife said that she would hold up the log. When the husband started to cut through the log he didn’t notice that her hand was right there. The wife was screaming for him to stop cutting, the chainsaw was so loud that he couldn’t hear. He almost cut threw the whole bone of her finger but then stopped because she started to cry. He felt bad because of what happened. She was scared of chainsaws for a long time until one day she decided to forget what happen in the passed and start over. Just like in the story the boy soon forgot about what happened and now he does a lot of things with water and so does the wife.
Being scared of things for your whole life might not make you have as much fun. If you work on it or keep trying you maybe could forget about this fear in life and what happened in the past and move on and have a better life.

Noah's Ark

Imagine being in a dark black tube with water splashing you in the face every time you turn a corner. When you get to the bottom you drop off into a big pool of water. Little kids screaming when they go down a slide. This was my favorite memory that I had when I went to Noah’s Ark last summer. When I read the story “Deep Water” it reminded me of this perfect memory that I will never forget.
During the day that I was there with my sister and three cousins. We tried to go on every single ride that we could before the day were over. There were only two adults and I was the oldest kid. Being the oldest I had to keep track of all the little ones because the adults don’t like going on the slides. Some of the water slides that were the most fun are the Black Anaconda, Time Warp, Black Thunder, and many more that were just as fun. When the day was over everybody wanted to stay, and we were all really tired from being in the sun. On the way home because the little 5 year old said, “This is the best day of my life”. By the time we got home everyone was sleeping. “Deep Water” reminded me of this day because when the boy was nearly drowning he felt a rush of water over him. He felt like he was all surrounded by water and there was no way out. I was around water slides and water all day and that made me not want to leave.
Have you ever seen or heard any advertisement about a water park? Let’s say you hear about a new ride or how fun the park is. When I see or hear these things it all reminds me of that day when I went to Noah’s Ark. When we read the story “Deep Water” this short story reminds me of when we all got knocked down by the wave pool. In the story the child almost drowns. When we got knocked down we just got back up nothing serious happens.
Last summer when I went to Noah’s Ark it was one of the most fantastic childhood memories that I will never forget. Going down those dark slides and having water splashed on me was the best feeling that anyone could have. That is why I loved the story “Deep water” because it made me feel like I was right back there again.
